Mr. Faraj joined TNI in 2009 as Chief Executive Officer of TNI Saudi Arabia and Managing Director of Investment Banking, UAE. He brings with him over 17 years of experience in corporate finance, asset allocation, private equity, structured finance and activist investing. Mr. Faraj has been involved in approximately USD 5 bln worth of equity/debt transactions in the financial industry, healthcare, and infrastructure sector.
 
Beyond having international market expertise, Mr. Faraj successfully operates his comprehensive knowledge of emerging markets in the Middle East. Prior to joining TNI, Mr. Faraj was the Chief Executive Officer at Nomura, Saudi Arabia and Executive Director at Nomura Investment Banking in Bahrain. In this capacity, he was responsible for the establishment, development, and managing of Nomura’s GCC franchise, as well as managing relationships with policy makers, regulators, and key stakeholders.
 
Before moving to the Middle East in 2006 he was Nomura’s global strategist for 6 years, heading the team responsible for global asset allocation and top-down strategy advising institutional and private clients, as well as Nomura’s proprietary businesses. He remains actively engaged with the global asset management industry via a network of private and institutional investors worldwide. He has deep knowledge of international markets, as well as the emerging markets of the Middle East and Asia, and offers useful insights and interesting views.
 
Mr. Faraj has also held senior positions at Fitch IBCA Rating, and Maxwell Stamp in the United Kingdom, where he was as a sovereign ratings adviser and economic policy consultant, concentrating on policy reform projects for CIS, Middle East and Asia. Mr. Faraj has been featured in international media including CNN, CNBC, BBC, and Reuters.
