The Arab Thought Foundation FIKR 6 conference convened December 1-3, 2007 in Manama, Bahrain. The theme of the 6th annual conference was The New Arab Economy- Transformations Shaping the Future. The cross-cultural event gathered leaders from 22 Arab countries representing business, technology, government and media to meet with their counterparts from around the globe. Additionally, a special group of Arab youth leaders participated in an interactive Innovation Workshop. The FIKR 6 program sparked a dialogue on the profound changes taking place in the Arab world, and how it was integrating into the larger global view. VHG designed the agenda with a focus on transformation in investments, energy, technology, media and corporate social responsibility. FIKR 6 was co-hosted by His Majesty King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and HRH Prince Khalid Al Faisal, President of The Arab Thought Foundation.

VHG was an integral player in the San Francisco premiere of the major motion picture, "Lions for Lambs," an event designed to benefit The Redford Center at Sundance Preserve. 500 guests attended the invitation-only screening, which featured guest appearances by Robert Redford and San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, among others. The inaugural National Park Foundation Leadership Summit on Partnership and Philanthropy convened October 14-16, 2007 in Austin, Texas. The historic, invitation-only gathering helped the National Park Foundation in its mandate as the Congressionally-chartered nonprofit partner of the National Park Service, raise awareness of park philanthropy and facilitate and enable charitable activity for parks throughout the country. The African Green Revolution Conference, held in Oslo, Norway hosted leading experts from 40 countries, ranging from senior African ministers to smallholder farmers, engaged in a dynamic discussion on the future of sustainable agricultural development in Africa. The dialogue honed in on public-private partnerships that could extend agricultural opportunities to more of Africa's people. Business session topics included pan-African initiatives, the value chain, inputs, biofuels, water management and climate change. Breakout groups touched on hot topics like empowering women and supporting smallholder farmers. 93-year old Nobel Peace Prize laureate Dr. Norman Borlaug appealed to the gathered ministers to ensure that the green revolution take firm root throughout Africa in his lifetime.
